Povey Stirk commenced operating in April 1999 as a merger of established Alice Springs legal practices, Poveys and McBride & Stirk.  The firm traces its roots back to the mid-sixties in Alice Springs, and over the years of service has an established and extensive client base in Central Australia.  As such, we work for organisations and people across the Northern Territory, Western Australia and South Australia.

The firm's client base includes pastoral, mining, tourism and indigenous enterprises.  The firm actively consults to government and its agencies, various statutory boards, authorities and institutions, in areas as diverse as commercial advice, health service delivery and issues, child protection, policing and inquests.  In addition to its commercial and personal litigation practice, the firm has an extensive established commercial practice servicing a broad range of industries.
